Rabbi Anthony Knopf is our highly successful
Community Director, having joined us in March
2007. Together with his wife, Carly, he has
invigorated our Chaverim group, taken forward
the hesed group, and developed a wide range
of educational activities for the whole community.
From Manchester Grammar, and a Bnei Akiva background,
Anthony went to Cambridge University (BA in
Theology in 2002). He continued his studies
at HaKotel, Darche Noam and Kol Yaakov Yeshivot
in Israel. He gained his Semicha in 2006 from
Ohr Semayach and Kol Yaakov.
Anthony's wife, Carly, taught Jewish Studies
at JFS and then briefly at Kerem until the first
of their two children arrived in 2008.
Rabbi Anthony's principal responsibility has
been to develop and implement new social and
educational programmes. These are intending
to appeal to the whole community and especially
to younger families.
In the educational area his brief includes the
extension of our programme of traditional learning
and the introduction of new approaches, including
regular weekday dinners addressed by experts
from all sections of our community together
with an outside 2nd speaker to offer an alternative
perspective.
