Rabbi Anthony Knopf is our highly successful
Associate Rabbi, having joined us in March 2007.
Together with his wife, Carly, he has invigorated
our Chaverim group, taken forward the hesed
group, and developed a wide range of educational
activities for the whole community.
From Manchester Grammar, and a Bnei Akiva background,
Anthony went to Cambridge University (BA in
Theology in 2002). He continued his studies
at HaKotel, Darche Noam t in Israel. He gained
his Semicha in 2006 from Rabbi Zalman Goldberg
in Israel and Base Yaharon Kollel in England..
Rabbi Anthony's wife, Carly, taught Jewish
Studies at JFS and then briefly at Kerem until
the first of their two children arrived in 2008.
Rabbi Anthony's principal responsibility has
been to develop and implement new social and
educational programmes. These are intending
to appeal to the whole community and especially
to younger families.
In the educational area his brief includes
the extension of our programme of traditional
learning and the introduction of new approaches,
including regular weekday dinners addressed
by experts from all sections of our community
together with an outside 2nd speaker to offer
an alternative perspective.
